Scott Steingraber, owner and winemaker at Kriselle Cellars, began making wine about 15 years ago. Scott’s work as a civil engineer took him to the San Francisco Bay area—right next door to the Napa and Sonoma Valleys.

At Plaisance Ranch, generations of family tradition come together in the heart of Southern Oregon wine country. Rooted in the Ginet family’s winemaking heritage in Savoie, France, this historic working ranch carries an Old World love of wine and farming into the Applegate Valley. When we first began exploring the concept of a vineyard in southern Oregon back in 2001, we were absolute novices. While it sounds incredibly trite, we knew we loved wine and the thought of making our own wine seemed so “romantic.”
A newly-remodeled tasting room, features a comfortable gathering place for leisurely sipping and our new kitchen offers tapas specially prepared to complement the estate vintages.
We are a family operated vineyard and winery located in the Applegate Valley of Southern Oregon. Our four generation wine making family has been working since 2001 to make wines from the 20 varietals we have planted on our estate.

As pioneers in the late 1800s, our ancestors journeyed out West from Atlanta, Georgia, in hopes of a new beginning. They traveled by ship and stagecoach through different areas of California and Washington, but decided to give Oregon a chance when they heard the tales of its beautiful country.
